Who We Are

Access Appalachia Animal Care was founded in 2025 by Dr Brenda Specht after seeing a need for easier access to veterinary care across many parts of southern Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia.

We set up at – Local Shelters and Community Centers

We need volunteers!

  • If you are a vet tech, groomer or have experience in a veterinary clinic – we need you.
  • If you are good at handling squirrely cats and big strong dogs – we need you.
  • If you are good at navigating computer apps and talking with the pet owners – we need you.
  • If you enjoy handing out water and cookies – we need you.
